The KU Osher Lifelong Learning Institute does not share, sell, or rent its mailing lists. You have our assurance that any information you provide will be held in confidence by the Institute.
We occasionally use mailing lists that we have leased. If you receive unwanted communication from the Institute, it is because your name appears on a list we have acquired from another source. In this case, please accept our apologies.
This fall, the Osher Institute will have 29 classes and four special events at 12 different locations, including, for the first time, classes in Hutchinson, Kansas! Interest in Osher is at an all-time high, and we need your help. Our fine tradition of hosting the registration table, registering new participants, assisting in classroom setup, and introducing the instructor needs volunteers. If you are willing to be a host, you can attend that class free of charge. We have many volunteer opportunities for both afternoon and evening classes at various locations, and we will train you. To volunteer, call David Wilson at
785-864-7873 or e-mail him at dmwilson@ku.edu. Call and find out how you can help!
The University of Kansas Continuing Education and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute are pleased to announce the formation of a partnership for lifelong learning with Hutchinson Community College (HCC). This partnership will bring to supporters of HCC the same diverse content, learning experiences and quality faculty that promote lifelong learning in the community. The Osher Institute, in partnership with HCC, is committed to creating accessible and innovative learning environments for participants 50+ that stress the fun and joy of learning.
This program is sponsored, in part, by the Kansas Arts Commission, a state agency, and by the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
The University of Kansas is deeply grateful to The Bernard Osher Foundation in San Francisco for partial funding of the University of Kansas Osher Lifelong Learning Institute as one of its affiliated institutes in the United States.
Osher members enjoy interactive and participatory teaching and learning environments. Generally, courses require no homework, out-of-class preparation, or testing.
Although highly unlikely, a class may be cancelled due to under-enrollment or some other circumstance beyond the Institute’s control. Members will be notified of a course cancellation and have the option of transferring their registration to another course or requesting a refund.
If there is no stated deadline, no benefits used, and no classes attended, the request for a fee refund will be honored. A $30 fee will be charged for returned checks.
We accommodate persons with disabilities. Please call 785-864-5823 or mark the space on the registration form, and a KU Continuing Education representative will contact you to discuss your needs. To ensure accommodation, please register at least two weeks before the start of the class.
The University of Kansas is committed to providing programs and activities to all persons, regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, age, disability, and veteran status. In addition, university policies prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, marital status, and parental status.
