KU Duke TIP Scholars Weekends

The program is open to all students in grades 8–12 who have participated in a Duke TIP Talent Search or been identified as academically gifted or talented by local school criteria.
Students meet on the University of Kansas Lawrence campus for two days of intensive academic study.
Students enroll in one class and explore material typically not included in school curricula.
The early weekend program rate for the March weekend is $370 if payment is received by February 10; after February 10 the rate is $395; for the April weekend the early rate is $370 if payment is received by March 21; after March 21 the rate is $395. These rates cover housing, food, and academic activities. A day student rate of $345 is also available, with an early rate of $320.
Need-based scholarships are available.
Your confirmation will be sent to you using the e-mail address you provided on the registration form. The e-confirmation will contain a confirmation letter, receipt (or invoice), general information, release forms and schedule.
March: Registration form available until Thursday, March 1 at 4:00 p.m. Accepting registrations postmarked no later than Monday, March 5.
April: Registration form available until Thursday, April 12 at 4:00 p.m. Accepting registrations postmarked no later than Monday, April 16.
Weekend Schedule
Overnight students spend the night in the Holiday Inn Express for both the March 10–11 and the April 21–22 weekends supervised by KU TIP residential counselors, with two students per room. Parents may pick up students after the program at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the designated location on campus (see schedule for location). The student and parent schedules for March and April are available for downloading.
Registration and Placement
Participants will be placed on a first-come, first-served basis in the highest-ranked open course selected on the application.
Applicants unable to be placed in any chosen courses will be notified and added to a waiting list. Applicants will be alerted when a course becomes available.
All participants must be covered by health insurance.
