- The program is open to all students in grades 8–12 who have participated in a Duke TIP Talent Search or been identified as academically gifted or talented by local school criteria.
- Students meet on the University of Kansas Lawrence campus for two days of intensive academic study.
- Students enroll in one class and explore material typically not included in school curricula.
- The weekend program rate is $395, which covers housing, food, and academic activities. A day student rate of $365 is available.
- The program alumni rate is $345 for the weekend, which covers housing, food, and academic activities. A day student rate of $315 is available.
- Need-based scholarships are available.
- Your confirmation will be sent to you using the e-mail address you provided on the registration form. The E-confirmation will contain a confirmation letter, receipt (or invoice), general information and schedule.
Weekend Schedule
Overnight students spend the night in the Holiday Inn Holidome for the October weekend and The Oread for the November weekend supervised by KU TIP residential counselors, with two students per room. Parents may pick up students after the program at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. A complete itinerary will be sent to each student upon acceptance to the program.
Registration and Placement
- Participants will be placed on a first-come, first-served basis in the highest-ranked open course selected on the application.
- Applicants unable to be placed in any chosen courses will be notified and added to a waiting list. Applicants will be alerted when a course becomes available.
- All participants must be covered by health insurance.
