Dr. William M. Tsutsui, associate professor of history at the University of Kansas, is a specialist in modern Japanese business and economic history. He holds degrees from Harvard, Oxford, and Princeton universities. His recent publications include Manufacturing Ideology: Scientific Management in Twentieth-Century Japan (1998) and Godzilla on my Mind (2004). He teaches introductory courses on East Asian history, upper-level surveys of modern Japan, and topics courses on Japanese business and Japanese national identity. He has served as president of the Kansas State Historical Society and as secretary-treasurer of the Kansas Humanities Council.
