I received my BS from the University of Madison-Wisconsin in 2004, majoring in psychology with a minor in women's studies. I am currently pursuing my PhD in social psychology at the University of Kansas. My research interests lie broadly within the fields of stereotyping and prejudice. I am particularly interested in perceptions of Black women and how sexism and racism in relation to Black women may be very different from sexism related to White women and racism related to Black men. I am also interested in behavioral indicators of stereotype dimensions as well as perceptions of racism, particularly racism as it relates to self and identity.

At KU I have instructed social psychology and have served as a teaching assistant for introductory psychology courses as well as for courses on intimate relationships, social psychology, and experimental methods. As an instructor for American Collegiate Adventures in Madison, Wisconsin, I have taught introductory psychology courses for high school students. I really enjoy teaching and look forward to not only teaching but also learning from my students.
