Chantal Young I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, in 2003. I am now a graduate student at the University of Kansas working toward my Ph.D. in clinical psychology. For many years my primary research interest has been sexuality; in particular, I am interested in sex therapy, pleasure, gender issues, sexual orientation, and personal/cultural meanings related to our sexual self-concepts. Recently, my research interests have expanded to include evolutionary psychology. I am extremely interested in the blending of evolutionary and social constructionist theories in an effort to understand modern human behavior.
I have greatly enjoyed teaching Psychology of Human Sexuality at KU during the past year and am excited to offer the course in a distance learning format. My hope is that you will enjoy learning about the complexities of sexuality and that you will know your sexual self better after taking this course.
