How do I take an exam on-site at the Independent Study office?

To the top

You may take an exam only after completing all of the lessons preceding that exam. If you are taking a final exam, all preceding exams must be graded. Some courses have additional requirements so check your study guide or online course syllabus to make sure you are ready to take an exam.

If you live in the Lawrence area or if you wish to take an exam at our Lawrence location, you do not need an appointment if you come Monday – Friday between 8:30 am – 2 pm to start your exam. Tuesdays when evening exams are offered, you may come in no later than 6 pm to start an exam. Please see the chart below for Tuesday exam dates.

If you arrive with less than the full time allowed for the exam before the exam room closes or haven’t fulfilled the requirements to take an exam you will not be allowed to take the exam. Your study guide or online course syllabus gives the time allowed for completing exams. You are encouraged to call our office to confirm that your course requirements have been met before coming to take an exam.
