The number of KU Independent Study courses available online is growing! As a student in an online course, you receive your instructions for accessing the course by mail. Once you access the course you have direct contact with your instructor, primarily by e-mail—just as you would in a print-based course. However, with online courses, you do not receive a printed study guide; rather, you access your study guide and submit your lessons using the Internet. The guide contains all of your lessons, activities, and assignments. In addition, your course may feature online quizzes, as well as links to other online resources. Most courses require proctored exams.
