Enrollment • KU Online ID

Some Independent Study courses require you to use your KU Online ID and password in order to access various portions of the course. These may include Blackboard login pages, library materials and other resources.

If you are a student enrolled in on-campus courses at the University of Kansas, you do not need to take additional action as you have already established your KU Online ID.

For all other students, please complete the following steps:

1. Request your KUID. If you are not currently a KU student, or do not otherwise have or remember your KUID number, please send an e-mail to Laura Diede. Please include the following information in your request:
   
   • Subject Line: “Request for KUID”
   • Body: Your Full Name, Address & Phone number
     
     
   For privacy purposes, we will confirm your address and mail a letter to the address we have on file that will contain your KUID.
   
   
2. Register for a KU Online ID.
   • Visit the KU Information Technology accounts page and select “Set up a KU Online ID.”
   • Log in using your KUID number and your date of birth.
   • Follow the remaining instructions to create your password and finish the registration process.
