| Description: | This course is designed to meet the NFPA 1001 standard for Fire Fighter 2. The course uses IFSTA Essentials of Firefighting, Fifth Edition, as text. (Furnished by the student.) Course contents include: Fire ground operations which include: implementing IMS, construction materials and building collapse, rescue and extrication tools, vehicle extrication and special rescue, hose tools and appliances, ignitable liquid and flammable gas control, foam fire streams, hydrant flow and operability, fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems, fire cause and origin, radio communications and incident reports, and pre-incident survey. |
